Mahabodhi Agro Project
Hotel Taj Bed RoomThe initial ‘Green Devachan’ project has no doubt been a success. The proposed ‘Agricultural Outreach Project’  envisions even greater greening of Devachan as well as more professional approach to sustainable agriculture. With the irrigation system developed by the new water project, the agro project will expand the fruit and forest plantations, increase the cultivation of vegetables, and introduce a medicinal herb garden. Self-sufficiency for the Devachan family in fruits and vegetables would enable greater nutrition as well as cost saving.
In addition, new technologies adapted from the many international agriculture practices like drip and sprinkle irrigation systems have been using since 2010. It is first time such technology has been using in Ladakh and in the years to come such kind of technology would be accessible to farmers in neighboring villages.

Sister Ramona Lai’s Orchard
Thousands of fruit trees that of Apple and Apricots have been planted in our sister Ramona Lai’s orchard since 2009. The survival rates of these plants were 95% which unusually is high because of good care and nurture by the staff. Beside fruit trees we have been planting thousand of trees that of willow and poplar since inception of the Devachan every year by individual wings, students and staff at different wings and all along the circular road.

Kitchen Garden (Vegetable Garden)
A green belt has been developed in the campus opposite to the girls’ hostel adjacent to the Old Age Home where a huge plot of land has been developed for vegetable cultivation. The first cultivation started in April 2009 with sowing potatoes, cabbage, onions, Pease etc. Over the years the top soil has gained fertility and a variety of vegetables have been sown. It is hoped to yield a good crop. Seedlings are also raised in the green houses for transplantation into the green belt by May and new crops are experimented for cultivation.

Drip Irrigation
Sister Ramona Lai funded drip irrigation system is another promising venture at the campus. The MIMC is the first Non-Governmental organization which use the drip and sprinkle systems in Ladakh region. It has been successfully using last few years and the consumption of water very good. The dripped irrigiation systems have implemented at Sis Ramona Lai’s Orchard, roadside trees plantation and sprinkle system at Herbal garden and vegetable garden.
