Higher Education

The Mahabodhi Residential School at the main Devachan campus in Ladakh has facilities only up to secondary education. Ladakh being a remote region, current facilities for undertaking higher studies are comparatively limited and relatively poor. The facilities for higher studies at the educational institutions in Ladakh are often negligible which compel the students to pursue their higher studies out of Ladakh. Owing to the distance and affordability factors, Ladakhi students often opt to study either in Jammu, Srinagar, Delhi, Chandigarh and other Indian cities.

Mahabodhi senior students education program supports the students who want to continue their study in particular field and find it difficult to bear the expenses of their study outside of Ladakh. Under this program, many underprivileged students have completed their studies since the first students graduated from our School in the year 2000. Many of these students have even joined Mahabodhi to strengthen the organization service so that many more deprived children enjoy the education and make the other deprived children stand on their own feet and enjoy the fruit of education.

Under this program, Mahabodhi has sent many deprived children (after their completing their studies at our School) to different cities in India for their further education with full sponsorship support. Some of the bright students have also been sent outside India for their education. Presently most of the deserving students from our School are being sent to Chandigarh, Jammu and Delhi for further studies.
